The 1445 was a Kay-built semi-hollow body with Les
Paulâ„¢ looks and a curly maple top. It had those soap-bar sized 'speed bump'
pickups, and knobs galore. The catalog listings all say 'black back,' but as
these photos show, the good-looking blonde was on the back of this guitar as
well.
The Kay so-called 'Speed Demon' was a close cousin to this snazzy Silvertone.
