The 1457 amp-in-case refined the attempt begun by
the 1449 to have a double pickup model. The paint scheme for the guitar was different, with the
'redburst' and glitter, and the amp was fancied up just a touch with a chrome
bezel trimming out the speaker frame. Otherwise, the amp specs stayed the same
as the 1449,
and the only other cosmetic difference was the number '1457' screened on the amp
plate itself.
Introduced:

The 1457 'All-in-1' was one of the most popular
packages Sears ever offered. Given this guitars relatively small window of
availability (barely two years), it's amazing that we see so many of these
guitars in the media, in players hands and online auctions. It's a testament to
the popularity and continued desirability of this better-spec'd model.
