The 1960s meant many things to many people; it was a
time of newfound freedom; it was a time of the fear and reality of war. It was a time of
exploration, both of inner and outer space. It was a time of experimentation,
musical and otherwise. The Beatles; the Rolling Stones, Woodstock; Altamont,
Kennedy; Nixon, groovy; heavy... on all fronts, it was a time of change,
contrast, challenges.
Silvertone took up the challenge of providing amps and guitars to a music playing public hungry to test the musical waters. Challenge the status quo, try something new... for a while it seemed anything was possible.

Here
they are: the Silvertone amps that powered America and the world through the
1960s. 'Suitcase' combos, the famous amp-in-case models, amp/cabinet component
'stacks,' the first amps devoted to bass... it 's all here.
Reverb was added to the mix on some models, higher power pumping through more
and bigger speakers, more channels, and the first solid state amps.
Of course, by the end of the 60s, a lot of things were gone. Dano as a separate
entity; and most important to
us, the Dano-made Silvertone amps and guitars were no more.
