The Wonders, those one-and-gone hitmakers from the 60s, used Silvertone guitars and amps early in their career.
Lead player Lenny Haise can
be seen in early promo shots and on the cover of the PlayTone "That Thing You
Do" 45 picture sleeve with his trusty 1457. Lenny also recorded the hit
version of "TTYD" with the 1457 running through a 1484 amp.
T.B. Player preferred a Danelectro Shorthorn single-pickup copper bass. When the band
appeared as Cap'n Geech and the Shrimp Shack Shooters in the movie "Weekend at
Party Pier," you can see T.B. fakin' it with a Kay-made sea foam green Silvertone
1413.
Sadly, the Wonders didn't last past their hit single and
subsequent tour. Truly one-hit 'Wonders.'
