The 1373 6-string bass was offered for only 3 catalog cycles, so barely a year and a half before it was gone, replaced by the 4-string 'dolphin nose' 1444.

Sometimes referred to as a baritone guitar, the 1373 was targeted in the catalog write-ups towards being played as guitar or bass, albeit an octave lower. Players argue constantly over the best way to tune these, many prefer E-E, some come up with other variations.

Introduced:
Spring/Summer 1958

Spring/Summer 1959

The 1373 was obviously
related to the Dano-branded bass of the same configuration. Nashville went crazy for the sound of the bass, using its 'tic tac' sound in innumerable country sessions.
